How it works
Submit a piece
A short, a scene, a cut. Say what you want notes on.
Get a piece
One is handed to you. Review it within the week: what works, then what would make it stronger.
Pass it on
It goes to the next member until it has 3 reviews. Yours comes back the same way.
Opening the Circle…
- Reviews are positive, with constructive criticism. Say what works, then what would make it stronger.
- A member’s project details stay confidential. What you see in the Circle stays in the Circle.
- Any abuse is removal from the Circle.
- You stay in the Circle by reviewing. Submit a piece, review the piece you are handed, pass it on.
- Occasionally merch and prizes from the Quantum store go to members who show up.
Questions
- What is the Directors Circle?
- A feedback circle on AktionFilm AI for emerging filmmakers and AI directors. You submit a piece, you are handed someone else's piece to review, and you pass it on. A piece gets 3 reviews within about a week.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing. You pay in reviews: to stay in the Circle you keep reviewing the pieces handed to you.
- What kind of feedback?
- Positive, with constructive criticism: what works, then what would make it stronger. Abuse is removal from the Circle.
- Is my work kept private?
- Yes. A member’s project details are confidential by rule. Pieces and reviews live inside the Circle, not on the public feed.
- When does the Circle meet?
- Thursdays at 8 pm Pacific, in the community feed under Inner Circle: open chat — cool ideas, suggestions, networking. Occasionally merch and prizes from the Quantum store go to members who show up.
- Why "like Benjamin Franklin’s club"?
- Franklin’s Junto was a small circle that met weekly to improve each other’s work and thinking. This is that, for AI directing.
